Opis

St. Martin's Church on Piwna Street belonged to the Augustinian order, brought to Warsaw in the 14th century. Its current form dates back to the 18th-century reconstruction, which gave it a Late Baroque style.

The temple was heavily damaged in 1944; rebuilt in the 1950s, it became one of the important centers for the democratic opposition in the 1970s and 1980s.
