Opis

John III Sobieski (1629–1696), following his victory at the Battle of Vienna in 1683, together with his wife Marie Casimire, founded the Benedictine Sisters of the Holy Sacrament convent and Church of St. Casimir on the New Town Market Square (Rynek Nowego Miasta) as a votive offering of thanks.

During his reign, Warsaw grew as the de facto capital of the Commonwealth, although the king himself preferred to reside in Wilanów on the outskirts of the city.
