Opis

According to Warsaw legend, a basilisk lived in the cellars of a tenement house on Krzywe Koło Street—a monster whose gaze turned anyone it saw into stone. It is said to have killed siblings who ventured into the dungeons in search of treasure.

He was eventually defeated by a tailor's apprentice named Jan, who held a mirror into the dungeon. To this day, the name of the 'Bazyliszek' restaurant in the Old Town Market Square and the street name itself remind visitors of this tale.
